Sustainability and Social Responsibility
Since its founding, Harmon Group has upheld rigorous environmental practices, kept continuously up to date with current legislation. Employees are trained to correctly separate recyclables, organic matter and hazardous waste, with the latter co-processed by specialist companies and sent to the cement industry. Effluent treatment complies with CONAMA regulations, safeguarding the Piracicaba river basin, and the energy used comes from renewable sources (solar), purchased through the free energy market.
Our greatest differentiator in sustainability is the remanufacturing and recovery of hydraulic components: around 90 tonnes of castings and steel are recovered each year, avoiding ore extraction, toxic gas emissions and the fossil fuel use associated with manufacturing new parts.
On the social front, Harmon Group supports local communities and organisations, as well as families directly or indirectly connected to the company through its employees, suppliers and customers.
